ErXing Dog Guide started from a simple frustration: most dog training advice online is either painfully thin — a 300-word listicle with no real detail — or locked behind an app or a paid course. We wanted a free reference that treats dog owners as capable adults who can follow a clear, well-explained method on their own.

The library is written and edited by the ErXing Dog Guide editorial team. We are not a veterinary practice and we do not offer one-on-one behavior consultations. What we do is research, write, and fact-check articles grounded in positive-reinforcement training principles that are widely accepted among professional trainers and behavior organizations in the United States.

Our training philosophy

Every article on this site is written from a reward-based, science-informed perspective: identify what you want the dog to do, make that behavior easy to get right, and reinforce it consistently. We avoid punishment-based techniques and language that frames normal canine behavior as defiance or dominance, because that framing is both outdated and unhelpful for actually solving the behavior in front of you.

Who this library is for

We write primarily for new dog owners and people who have recently adopted a rescue dog, since that's when training questions are most urgent and the amount of conflicting advice online is overwhelming. Experienced owners use the library too, mostly as a quick, no-fluff reference when a new or unusual behavior comes up.

What we don't do

We don't diagnose medical conditions, recommend specific medications, or claim any outcome is guaranteed. For aggression, severe anxiety, or sudden behavior changes, we consistently point readers toward certified professional trainers and veterinary behaviorists — see our disclaimer for the full scope of what this content can and can't do. You can read more about how we research and verify what we publish on our methodology and sources page, and how we handle mistakes on our corrections page.
